CCBC AND PARTNERS: AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE REGION'S ROAD TO SUSTAINABILITY

The Community College of Beaver County will host the second annual “The Road to Sustainability II: Implementing Sustainable Strategies,” conference on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 8:30am-3:00pm, at the CCBC Athletics & Events Center, 1 Campus Drive, Monaca, PA.

CCBC initiated the regional green movement by hosting the first-of-its-kind conference in the Pittsburgh region “The Road to Sustainability”.  To capitalize on the momentum created at that first conference, CCBC, in partnership with Sustainable Pittsburgh, developed a green action format that addresses the sustainability issues facing Western Pennsylvania businesses.

ROBIN ROY TO SPEAK AT CCBC’s “ROAD TO SUSTAINABILITY II” CONFERENCE

The Community College of Beaver County is very pleased to welcome Dr. Robin Roy, Vice President, Projects & Policy of Serious Materials, as the keynote speaker for the second annual “The Road to Sustainability II: Implementing Sustainable Strategies,” conference on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 8:30am-3:00pm, at the CCBC Athletics & Events Center, 1 Campus Drive, Monaca, PA.

Formerly Project Director & Fellow at the United States Congress Office of Technology Assessment, Dr. Roy advised the Congress on competition in the electricity market, energy efficiency initiatives in the federal government and housing sectors, vulnerability of electricity systems to terrorism and natural disaster, and nuclear industry issues.

SPRING 2011 ATC PROGRAMS

The Air Traffic Control program is now accepting applications for Spring 2011 semester. We are now only accepting applications for the ATC Enroute program.  The ATC Terminal program is FULL for Spring 2011. Please complete the admissions application, the appropriate verification form, and submit the required $500 deposit to CCBC, 1 Campus Drive, Monaca, PA 15061. The $500 deposit is applied to your tuition upon registration. The applications will be processed on a first-come first-served basis.  Please DO NOT apply online for the ATC program.

CCBC STARTS FALL SEMESTER WITH ANOTHER ENROLLMENT INCREASE

The fall 2010 semester began at CCBC today marked by yet another enrollment increase.

Faculty and staff welcomed a total of 2,736 students to the newly renovated Center Township campus, which marks a 9.2% increase in headcount over last fall. Of those enrolled, 1,603 are considered full-time students, a 5.8% over fall 2009’s record-setting full-time enrollment.

Total credits hours being taken stands at 29,153, a 7.5 % jump from the fall 2009 semester.
