ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES AT CCBC
Tutor Center - As a student enrolled at CCBC, you can tap into the services available at the Tutor Center, which includes test preparation and review, review of class materials, special assistance in grammar, reading speed and comprehension, and strategies for academic success such as note taking, time management, and study techniques. Additional assistance is available for students with limited English proficiency.
Open to all students, at no cost, CCBC's Tutor Center will give you the support and encouragement you need to achieve academic success.
Tutor schedules vary by semester and are available in the library as well as the Titan Talk newsletter.
Learning Lab - Located next to the Tutor Center in the library, CCBC's Learning Lab is equipped with 14 PC workstations complete with Microsoft Office, PLATO skills and typing, MLA, and APA software. Take advantage of this user-friendly facility to improve your academic skills. Hours are:
Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
ACT 101 - Providing additional academic support services, ACT 101 is a Pennsylvania State program to assist students who meet certain academic and economic guidelines. The ACT 101 Program Facilitator determines student eligibility for the program. If you are eligible for services, you can receive assistance with application forms and procedures, course schedules, career planning, financial aid forms and procedures, college transfer procedures, goal setting, and mentor support services. The ACT 101 program is located in the Office of Supportive Services in Library Resource Center, upper level.
KEYS (Keystone Education Yields Success) - This program has been designed in conjunction with the PA Department of Welfare to provide support and services to PA TANF recipients enrolled in a community college. Further information can be obtained at (724) 775-8561, ext. 202.
